Hello,
I just moved to Ontario.  Which insurance company would you recommend me for car/motorcycle in Ontario (cheapest one)?
Thanks,

well I will follow this thread to since I'm going to Borden in 3 weeks

TD Meloche Monnex is pretty good. Especially good if you belong to an organization, e.g. a university student/graduate, a professional engineer, belong to Canadian Military Engineers Association (if you're a combat engineer, join this), to name a few. Being part of an organization will get you an insurance discount.

Also, if you change your tires in the winter, there's a new insurance discount for that. Not sure if it's Ontario only or Canada wide.

Prices between regions in Ontario change so drastically that it's difficult to narrow down your answers.

In Borden, we started with the Cooperators and finished with Portage la Prairie Mutual Insurance.
Now that we are near Ottawa, we started with Portage and are currently with Intact Insurance.

While the insurance companies may be difficult to deal with, when there are operational considerations,
we've found it best to deal with Insurance brokers. It's their job to find you the best deals based on the various
insurance company's criteria.

re: Gunshark's comment: The discount for winter tires definitely applies to Ontario. I know it does not apply on the east coast, yet.

Unless you are in the GTA (including Borden), we've found insurance rates cheaper than the east coast.
Good luck.

Insurance is definitely cheaper in Ontario than back east. At least in Ottawa.

I just signed with Co-operators
