chances of successful transfer from one unit to another

i've got  a question. if this has already been posted i apologize.
the thing is, i'm starting my career in regular infantry. i am from ontario, so i would prefer to stay in ontario (petawawa, london). are you usually placed in the unit from the province you are from? if you are placed in another unit, what are the chances of you requesting transfer and getting it to a desireable unit?

The only reg. force infantry battalions in Ontario are both in Petawawa. London no longer has a reg. force infantry battalion.

You will get posted where you are needed, you may get a chance to request where you want to go, but there's no guarantee that you'll actually get it. As for getting posted out of one regiment to another regiment, I'll leave that for the crunchies to answer.
