Alright everybody is time to boast about your accomplishments in the CF. Anything from lifting a LAV 3 over your head to shot gunning two pitchers in the Karina club.

Ill just do the post and see how many ppl reply before I put out my accomplishment.

And dont be shy or think its being cocky, its just a bit of fun. And try not to lie, dont write that "uh once I was like uh crawling through the bush and I saw this bear and uh my warrant was like "man i wish that bear was dead" so i uh killed it with my BFA and made a hat for all the guys in my section ou`t of its fur."

One time firing the PWT, I got a 3cm grouping at 100m. I also managed to fireman carry a 220lb infantryman for a couple hundred metres.

That‘s about the best I can do for now.

Pte Lickers: whoever told you my bear story got it wrong...I used my KFS not my BFA! But the chaps in my section liked the hats...

I want to hear stories that start...."Well, one time at Sassy‘s...."

Any takers?

one time at band camp..........

haha

I havent been in long enough to have anything to brag about

You guys want a story?
No **** there I was... In my 5th hour of Sharp training when all of a sudden my slumber was rudely interrupted by a very pissed off warrant.

I think my biggest accomplishment is when I used the mortar at a live fire range I got personally praised by some big officer of Petawawa. Every shot I fired hit right on target.

and I also beat up these ninjas that were calling me names from the bushes

Whatever happened to the old, "can tell you but going to have to kill you"?

Military accomplishments should be kept to ones self or those close to your achievments. Pride can be used as a weakness in warfare. Training and preperation with a dose of humility will guarantee a successful operation. Beware of the quiet confident one in the back of the room. The loud one at the front is a sissy.

heres one for ya...
me and about 4 others NCM‘s decided to head out for a refreshing WATER at a local establishment after parade...(still in uniform)we started sitting around talking and we hear some gentlemen making some comments about the CF..well one thing led to another and the gentlemen making the sly remarks have a new found respect for the forces !

Old School

In my defense im defently not cocky or overconfident in my abilites. I know I have a long way to go and alot of work. If theres a middle in that classroom im probably sitting there. Like i said just a touch of fun.

I was part of a rescue op in Gagetown during ARCON 99. Small part though, as I just relayed some info from the accident scene to the medical C.P. Knowing that I helped save three troopers made me feel good, and I list that as a tiny but mighty accomplishment.

I got top student on my ql3s... seemed important at the time. Less so in hind sight. Got called into my SSM‘s office and was given what I gather passes for praise in SSm speak but I still left wondering if I‘d just been reprimanded or praised just like SSMs (RSMs) everywhere I guess

I put my bayonette through the back of this guy‘s hand... only problem is that the guy was me.

Not really an accomplishment, since I‘m sure most of you have all done it, but it sure was one of the coolest things I‘ve done so far in my year in the CF.. I fired the Carl G for the first time on Thursday (With a TP RAP)... way too cool. I came off the firing point with a big smile on my face.

(I‘m on a weekend pass from my SQ course right now.. It‘s been a great course so far, except for the fact that I‘ve been sick for a week.. :)

Sorry Lickers sure did not mean to pis* on your parade.
Just suggesting that all the really fun stuff for some remains within due to certain signatures on certain paperwork.
We all love the passing out on parade and impaled on the bayonet stories. Have seen it many times.

Old School,
Don‘t you remeber your first round down range on
Charlie G,GPMG,50,or using exsplosive‘s the first time, your first jump?

I‘ve been in since 76 and there is still the rare
occasion now and again I get a charge out of somthing new.

We‘re all human.

Hey let the young‘ns have their time,we had our‘s and told war stories also at their age but in the mess not on the net as we did not have the net back in the stone age.

No offence meant. :>)))

I hear that Old school.

Funnest one for me was rappelling out
of a chopper on 1/2 hr training in 81.

Learned from a Mcpl that if you do not
know what your be asked to do,then keep
your big,fat mouth shut.

If you can find a pic in the Winnipeg free
press, you will see me hanging upside down
from 50 ft. Not my most shining moment in
the army.

In ‘89 on my QL-1 line course, pole climbing was done without the aid of a pole-strap during ascent and descent. Having moved up to the 30 footers from the 15 foot stubbies, the Sgt. gave the order for us to ascend. I made it to the top, and was eye-level with the top of the pole as I began to belt-in.

*CRUNCH*

The sound of my left spur "gaffing out" was the last thing I heard before I thundered-in from 30 feet.

I hadn‘t "hugged" the pole as usual when gaffing out -- for some reason, I shoved off instead. My course Sgt. was standing over me as I squat in place, motionless, with my arse touching the ground between my spurs.

He asked if I was okay, which I affirmed. My answer was rewarded with, "Gimme 25, then get back up that pole!"

I haven‘t fallen since.

My accomplishment was successfully erasing any undue fear of falling. (Thanks Sarge.) To anyone else who‘s spurred, you know how valuable a fall can be for a reality check.

Cheers!
