I have 1 question.

Why were they using full combats during Operation Splinter when all they were doing is clearing lumber?

Because they‘re soldiers, and that‘s their uniform. What are they supposed to wear?

I don‘t remember being issued a lumber-clearing uniform... hhmm...

We wore our combats becuase even though we were cleaning up(its our dress), we still had to look good in peoples eyes and profesional. Plus I wouldn‘t want to wear t-shits, since most of us had cut arms.

Really what else? could we wear.

I would have thought they‘d give you industrial clothing.

why, we are army not lumberjacks. Gloves and vests is all :-) We diddn‘t wear the vests, what outlaws :-)

Hehehhe Out of the Video I diddn‘t see any Clips From any the halifax based units That were call to service, and there were tonnes. Arty, INF, Coms, drivers, ETC All called on monday morning.

There we‘re some personnel in civi‘s, doing the building.

How much civi clothing do you think soldiers must take on a 6 month deployment operation?

I have here 3 sets of PT strip, 3 sets of jeans with shirts, runners, shoes, civi jacket, 7 T shirts, socks. You don‘t need much...who are you going to impress?

Regards

We wore helmet to prevent against falling trees and our webbing to carry our water and our rain gear (and other kit).
