The Nipissing Branch of the Canadian International Council will welcome Commander Alex Grant of the Canadian Navy for a presentation Jan. 18 about the country's Arctic defence policy.
Grant has been with the Canadian Forces since 1981. He has a bachelor's degree in physics and oceanography and a masters of science in oceanography and acoustics from Royal Roads Military College, and a diploma in national security, strategy and policy, and joint military operations from the Naval War College, Newport, R.I.
The talk takes place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the North Bay Public Library. It is free and open to the public.
