Hey,
I was wondering if there is a list of courses that are open to naval reserve officers? I was able to find the army's CFLAWC list of courses at :
http://www.army.forces.gc.ca/cflawc/cc-cc/index-eng.asp
but I am betting they are only open to the Army officers. Is there a such list for navy?

More importantly, are there parachutist courses for Navy personal? I started skydiving as a civilian a few years ago, and wanted to get more formal training in the forces.

Thanks

Your NRD training dept should publish the calendar yearly.

The Naval Reserve Course Schedule (NRCS) is only available on the NAVRESHQ DWAN (DND intranet) site. You can also apply for courses at non-Navy training establishments and may get them provided that you: (1) Can convince your boss and/or Career Manager that it's worth the Navy's money and your time to send you on the course; and (2) There's room on the course at the training establishment for someone from outside the core training constituency.

In my experience, the jump course very rarely satisfies both those criteria. The few NAVRES guys who have wings are either ex-Army, formerly on class "B" at CFLAWC or closely related units, or civilian jumpers who got class "B" contracts with the Skyhawks.

The Cool Guy course in the Navy is the Ship's Team Diver course. That's quite easy to get on (somewhat less easy to pass).
