Nursing Officer career progression in the Reserve Force is:
RESO Enters as OCdt and can be promoted to 2Lt upon competion of BOTP(R), then does BCT Phases 1 and 2. Upon completion of BCT and RN degree/dilpoma is eligible for promotion to Lt. BNOC (when revised and modularized) will be required. When Basic Health Services Field course is modularized it will replace the BCT Ph 1 & 2 course. . After 3 yrs as Lt can be promoted Capt.
DEO nurse enters as 2Lt and is eligible for promotion to Lt upon completion of BOTP(R). Then completes BNOC. BCT Ph 1 & 2 is required (but will be replaced by BHSFC). After 3 yrs as Lt can be promoted Capt.
All nurses will be encouraged to do MOSC and will require that if they wish to be promoted to Maj. Nurses who wish to hold a command position will require JRCSC before they are eligible for LCol.
Nurses are not required to do CAP(R) at all, regardless of whether they choose to be in command or clinical positions.
