Anyone know what the flash just before detonation is? You can see it clearly in several views just before it hits the tank.

that was my first thought, but it appears just to be a small flash of light

I think the "flash" is actually the cone of air being pushed by the missile hitting the tank. So we're seeing something similar to a shockwave when a plane is close to, or hits the speed of sound. Neato.
