I have searched extensively for what I am asking, however the specific information was not to be found.

What type of daily PT is on the Basic Para course?  If I am correct, the course is 15 training days, and oriented around the principles of parachuting, and also contains a heavy PT element.  In summation: what should I expect on a daily basis with regards to PT?

Thanks in advance!

Parachuting is all about gravity.

You will therefore spend lots of time pulling yourself up -- against gravity -- on a horizontal bar or hanging onto parachute risers in a training harness. You will also spend time pushing yourself up -- still, against gravity -- in a horizontal position against the earth. In between, you run.

The 'get out the door and turn left' stuff is going to happen; I've never seen anyone exit the aircraft and move towards the engines or go upwards, so don't worry about that.

Just gravity and running.

This is not rocket-science.

They allocate 15 training days, but the last 5 days are J stage ( jump stage) where you complete 6 jumps. My course did our 6 jumps in 2 days, then used the remainder to lick our wounds, admin etc.

As for PT, there is none scheduled during J stage. Friday afternoon before J stage is reserved for ground school re-tests, so no PT then either. So, really there are ONLY 9 PT sessions.

Be prepared to run in the morning PT sessions and the end day sessions are usually some sort of circuit training, log PT etc.

Oh yeah, I forgot about flight class, which you will enjoy every day. And, the 5 chin ups as you enter or leave the building.  We also did push ups while reciting the airborne creed, push ups because we screwed up, push ups because we looked funny and, push ups just for the hell of it.

Really, just remember only 9 PT sessions. How hard can it be :)

One of the best courses of my career.
