Daughter of Habs GM Bob Gainey swept off Tall Ship

As stated in various media outlets, the daughter confirmed to be the young woman swept off the Tall Ship Picton Castle during a large wave.
Thoughts and prayers go out to the Gainey family at this time.

I've been aboard the Picton Castle.  She was in Fiji while I was there on the HMCS Winnipeg.  We spent most of our port visit just hanging out with the crew, climbing the mast of the Picton Castle, or showing them the Winnipeg.

Laura would not have been on board at the time though.  Chances are she was when my parents toured the Picton Castle in Toronto a few months ago.  It's a small world...

I can't imagine what her family must be going through.  They could never truly rest until they had some sort of closure.
