I've applied for the Army just now over Christmas, so I know that I won't hear anything until at least January 2nd I do believe, but I digress. I know on the military website that combat arms is listed under the "Hot Jobs" section but I was wondering if anyone really knows how much demand there is for these professions. I have applied under Infantryman, Anti-Air Artillery, and Field Artillery. I've been told that there is an almost guaranteed chance of being accepted by reputable sources, but I'd just like to know from more people who would know first hand.

With the intent to recruit more numbers into the forces, the need is most definitly there. The scores you achieve on your CFAT will dictate what you qualify for but to quell any fears you may have, it is very likely that with the career choices you submitted, provided there are no security clearance problems, your recruitment should run smoothly and quickly.

all right...what about infantry officers...would you answer the same thing ?

Yes, the need is still great for Infantry officers too (all combat arms for that matter)!  Like Shelldrake said above, depending on your skills, fitness testing, etc.  your file should be processed relatively quickly as the Army wants to fill the Common Army Phase (CAP) serials as much as possible.
