Hi there, question pertaining to DEU's.

I am reg force ROTP student parading with local reserve unit during the school year. We received our full DEUs during basic, but they were never tailored.
I am currently based ~8 hours from the nearest CAF base and my home unit.

What is the typical process for getting these DEU's ready for remembrance day in this case?

The reserve guys i'm working with said they take theirs to Moore's. But I don't really want to pay out of pocket if this is something the CAF clothing stores / QM will do. Anyone know if this is can be reimbursed, or should I just wait until I go to my first actual posting in ~2 years and go to remembrance day in cadpat again?

You belong to a support base. Ask your ULO, likely they will do the same thing they do for the unit's in your area. Either through a pre-arranged contract or via CF52 (minor claim)

Speaking from experience, depending on the location it can take months and some times years to get it back(that has been my experience). Talk to some of the people from your unit about their experiences. If they are telling you that they have to go to a civilian tailor, you likely just have to shallow the expense. I think it cost $75 last time I had to pay last time I got a new DEU jacket.

If you aren't on a base, you should expect to have to pay for somethings related to your DEUs. It's something that shouldn't happen, but is a fact of life in the Reserve world.

When I was first issued DEU's I had to buy most of the patches and pins off eBay because my unit didn't have them to give to me. When I was promoted to Corporal I had to buy my ranks off eBay, but my unit didn't have any Corporal badges.
