Does any one Know if women can be infantry officers

1 RCR has had a few women officers in the infantry.  Two just graduated Ph IV.

see i didn't want to get my hopes up and when i go to join RMC in (3 or 4 years LOL) they say i can't  :salute:

If you can do the trg and meet the standards then no problem.  One of the female offr in 1 RCR earned alot of respect from her subordinates and peers.  Best of luck.

Well basically, it's like this... why wouldn't you be able to be an officer in the infantry? If you can come up with an answer, then rethink your desire to be an infantry officer. Other then that, best of luck.

The British army still does not allow women in the combat arms, and I believe women are not allowed in the infantry in the U.S.

Could be why she's asking -just to make sure our army allows it.  But yes, Canada does not restrict women from trades.

Not entirely true, to my knowledge, women still cannot serve on Submarines.  Ex-Dragoon or one of the other navy types could clarify this.

Cheers

There is apparently 1 officer and 2 NCMs that are now subqualified. What SSK they are being posted on not sure.

Aren't the CF one of the few militaries that allow women in Combat Trades? I think Isreal is another.

Here isa link that illustrates what roles women can take in the IDF:

Reference submarines, when the order was placed for the Upholder SSKs from the Royal Navy, the trade was open to women, on the grounds that they had sufficient space to allow for proper separation of the sexes and privacy, something not possible on the Oberons we had previously.

I remember reading about a female infantry officer in the 22nd regiment. I think her name was Sandra Pearson and she had a horrific time while she was in. I hope things have change since whenever that was

Sandra Pearson was the first female infantry officer in the CF, but there are a few of them around, and I know some people who had a female assault pioneer-qual'd 23er as their platoon commander on course, apparently she is really really switched on.
