Hi, I remember from a question I asked about half a year ago that I could take BMQ  and that other one (SQL or something like that) at the unit during thw winter and I have a couple questions.
1) how many weeks would this be?
2) how many days a week is this? (I heard 1 day a week and every 2nd weekend, but then someone said soemthing about all day wednesday and got me all confused)
3) is there just 1 intake in september or do they start a new one every few months?
4) assuming I'm good enough to get through all that, could I also do the training for my specific trade at my unit assuming it's available? (considering I'm thinking about admin. support such as clerk in the air reserves I don't think availability of equipment should be a problem)
5) I know someone who did this winter training and he was in a holding platoon while he underwent the training, do they mix all elements in the platoons (not that it really matters, but as long as I'm throwing so many questions at you I figured I'd add another)

Sorry if some of this stuff is in the FAQ but, I don't seem to be able to access it, it says I don't have permission or something.

Thanks for your help,
Cam

Hi Cam,

First are you interested in Reserve or Regular?

I'm not to familiar with Reserve, but regular is done all year round. BMQ is 10 weeks and SQ is another 10 weeks. If you're interested in reserves (which question 2 seems to be) it's every weekened I think. Reserves BMQ/SQ are only a certain period throughout the year I gather from reading past and present forum post. #4/5 not sure about havn't done training myself.

When I joined the militia I did my QL2 during the summer for 8 weeks, then my QL3 Armd course started around the end of Sept or early Oct and it went right until Apr. So I highly doubt reserve units run more than one QL3 at a time.  There was a QL2 running concurrently.  We went every other weekend with regular training nights on Thurs.

Hope that helps

Cheers
