So I did my CFAT back in June, I was told that I had a competive mark on the test. i recieved a phone call not to long after telling me I ad a interview and a medical. I had my interview on September the 2nd, the Lieutenant told me I will mostly get in for infantry and I will probaly hear back within the next three weeks. I had my medical on September the 10th, I had to bring forms back to my doctor to get signed, I did that and handed the forms in last monday September the 14th. Now its justa long unbearible wait!

Hey!

I've had a nearly year long battle getting my doc to fill out the form CORRECTLY with all the information required. That combined with a fulltime job, limited RC hours and the fact that EVERY TIME I HAD TIME OFF my doctor was on holidays *Sigh*.. the medical form was a major SNAFU for me, because my doc couldnt get it together and our timing (all three sides) was horrible. I finally got the form filled and handed in... only to find out the medical officer in charge was on holidays LOL.

Luckily, its given me time to see my son grow a little. he was about 1.5 years old when i applied and i was really worried i'd miss a lot of his firsts... because of all these delays i've gotten to see him grow into his terrible twos lol. Currently 2.5 years old and content and patient with the fact that its taken this long to get moving again. A couple weeks ago i received the letter from Ontario stating my medical passed and that the next step is the security check. Just last week one of my professional references called to mention they received a call, which was nice of them (probably know how long i've been waiting since i asked them about a year ago lol).

SO NOW, i know my file is moving but not sure how much longer the wait will be lol. So in the same boat now!

Just wanted to share how its gone for me. THings are moving well, once i got stuff on my end straightened out.

Good luck!!

Hello everyone, (Sorry, my mother tongue is French!)

I'm new to this forum and would like to request information regarding the eye desease called "Keratoconus".
I am currently in process to get in Air Forces. I was diagnosed a "Keratoconus" when I was 19 years old. Currently I am 31 and I see very well with my glasses (LASIK MD informed me that I did not need a surgery). To my left eye, I see quite well (-0.5 diopters) and my right eye almost half (-5.5 diopters). I have a Bachelor degree and a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering. According to my file Manager I had a very strong score on my CFAT, wich qualifies me for my 3 trades.

Since I had involvement outside of Canada, they did  first and completed my Background Checking) since early September 2015. Soon I will get my interview and my medical and I wonder if the Keratoconus will or won't be problematical during my medical examination? That's gonna disqualify me to get in the Canadian Forces?

My trades are:
1st choice: Aerospace Engineering Officer,
2nd choice: Aerospace Control Officer
3rd choice: Air Combat Systems Officer

Thank you in advance for your answers !!!!!!!!
