Hello, im new to the forums I'm going away for DP1 Infantry this summer and I was wondering what the odds are of bringing non-issued boots on the course. Thank you!

On my dp1 you had to have a boot chit to wear non issued boots or you would get written up.

Oh ok. Thank you

You are welcome. Good luck.  :)

As always, the most trusted source of information is your unit.

For whatever it's worth, I've managed to wear non issued boots through DP1 level courses in two different trades, and in two different operational units.

Your feet are important for what you are about to do. Bring non issued boots that work for you and maybe your staff will have some experience and apply common sense. As long as you have issued boots to fall back on what's the harm in trying?

Maybe try getting the new issued boots (not the zip ups though) as they at least look more comfortable but I'm sure they will still fall apart in the field. Your course isn't that long, you should be ok.

I actually just got issued the zip ups and I've heard of their infamous durability. But that sounds good. Couldn't hurt to have the pair just in case

Bring both, see what the course staff says.  Becomes a pretty easy solution to have a second pair when the first fall apart (especially considering the state of the supply chain at the moment)

I would recommend against not bringing what you've been issued on the gamble they would be fine with it however.
