since less people apply on the east coast does that mean it would be easier to get in?

CAF recruiting is a national service. The location of your residence or recruiting centre at time of application has no bearing on speed or ease of enrolment.

With a bit more detail:
Some trades are national for recruitment, others are specific to region (As in a certain number is allocated to each geographic region, etc) - You'd need to speak with the recruiters in order to find out the specifics of how the breakdown works for your respective trade.

That being said, Recruiting has factored in how many applicants come from each area when they make their allocations (as well as other factors), so "gaming" the system or looking for an easier way in isn't going to put the odds in your favour.  If it does, it will more likely be by luck then by intention.

Just put your application in and let the cards fall where they will.

Doesn't work this way anymore.  All CAF occupations are now managed Nationally and CFRC's are no longer allocated positions to fill.  So someone applying from Vancouver is now competing against the guy applying from Halifax for the same position.

Good to know - it has changed in the last few years.  Thanks for the info!
