Is there any way to go back and edit old posts? I can't seem to find the modify button on older posts.

There is a time limit on how long you can modify them for,  after its timed out they are they permanent as far as I know. If you really want something changed contact a mod maybe.

(edited for silly spelling  :blotto:)

I stand to be corrected but I believe you have to be a subscriber to the Army.ca site and then you only have 24hrs. to modify your post.

Close. Anyone (who is not on warning) can edit their posts for the first 24 hours. After that, they are recorded in the annals of Internet history. If you need something changed, you can ask myself or another Staff member.

Sorry for the hijack but I was just curious. Why is someone on warning unable to edit their posts... inconvience?

It stops them from erasing or editing the post that earned them a warning.

which is also why it's generally a good idea to use the quote function to deliver a stern warning or internet throat-punch to an assclown. When someone posts something against Guidelines, or just plain stupid, and someone else chooses to offer a rebuttal, they should quote the post they have an issue with. It prevents said assclown from altering his/her post to change their argument. Certain banned members were notorious for such behaviours.

The intent is that while a user is on warning, they'll think a bit harder before hitting that "post" button, since they know they can't re-write history afterwards. It's designed to encourage thinking before posting, which is always a good thing.
