Education benefit eligibility?

Hey, I've recently been moved to DEC and have a question about using my education benefit.

I think there's a 10 year limit and I got out more than ten years ago. BUT I was on ELB pretty much the entire time and was therefore ineligible to access it. I think I recall my case manager a couple years ago saying that if I went off ELB (which I have just now as ive been declared DEC) I'll still have access to it despite it being more than ten years.

Does anyone know or have experience with this issue?

When VAC's ETB came into effect in 2017, the ten year clock started for all medically released veterans who quailed.

After 2017, the ten year clock begins on your release date.

As this benefit was only launched on 1 April 2018 if you released between 1 April 2006 and 31 March 2018 you can access funding up to 1 April 2028.
