Well this probably won't help most since gusy are stuck in boots for the most part.
But.
I got a set of Salomon Expert Mid's last Sept to take to Afghan - they are a hiking shoe and without doubt the most comfortbale shoe I have ever worn for that sort of stuff -- (MEC has them BTW) I got them off a CAG guy that had recommend them for "work". I ended up getting a second set - then a set of Danner Aggitators (I dont waer a uniform so I dont need boots) hiking shoes are a lot more comfortable and lighter than boots in my experience.
However just recently I bought a set of Oakley Flack jackets (yeah gay name) -- I had been disappojted with the tan oakley assualt boots I got a few years ago
I got them in tan at the Oakley store in the Orlando Fl airport $100 (pretty good deal I think)
Anyway they have quickly stolen my feets heart. -- and then blend in well enough for civilian wear as well.
I still like the Salomons -- but at least now it looks like I change my shoes...
