Greetings all:

I searched high and low on the forum but have a pretty specific and focused question. I know this horse may be dead and beaten a long time ago but haven't found anything specific to this.

I hit it off with the recruiter, everything is going really well and the paperwork dragon has almost been slayed. I have one question though: Is it common for everybody to fill out a 330-60E form who is applying to be a reservist? I was given mine right off the bat and was curious if it's common practice for reservists. Anyone care to offer their experiences, thoughts and/or insights?

I travelled a lot in the past and lived overseas for six months ten years ago. Is that the main reason or is it because of the trades I applied to (Infantry, field engineer and armoured). I know a lot of organizations thrive on paperwork with the CF being no different but I was pretty amazed at the depth and thoroughness of it!

Cheers, HTFU

Yes.

If you've been outside of Canada for extended periods of time, you are required to complete and submit a long-form security clearance document.

Cheers!

I was under that assumption but thought that it may have been trade specific.

I guess a month in Yugoslavia (prewar), three weeks in Nepal /India and trips to many other third world countries would trigger that. Glad I kept my passports so I could reference the dates!

I joked to my recruiter I should have had a more boring life with less travelling! I'm also happy that my ski bum season just had it's 11th anniversary (Kinda hard to describe living in a van in BC for six months to the paperwork ninjas).

Another paperwork hurdle I'll happily jump over and I'm sure it won't be the last! It'll all be worth it in the end.

Patience, block lettering and black ink all the way!
