I watch a lot of US news. According to the left, anything right of centre, is far right. It's easy and lazy, to use the term on anything non liberal that a liberal thinks is wrong. There is no 'right.' It's all far right.

If they are going to slag anything conservative, for the sake of discussion what characteristics inhabit a person on the far right. What is 'the far right.'

Its leader is a lesbian whose partner is an immigrant from Sri Lanka.

I'm not even sure "left" and "right" are the right labels anymore. Those feel more like convenient jersey colors.

To me, it's become LPC vs. CPC, Democrats vs. Republicans, AfD vs. CDU, and so on.

Politics looks more like a team sport now.

I'm a lifelong, die-hard Yankees fan. I absolutely hate the Red Sox.

You can swap those names for whatever teams fit your own situation, but the dynamic is the same.

I have been trying to teach my kids that you can have opposing political views and still be friends with someone and how to do that. I find the hardcore "loyalists" on both sides, don't know how to do that well. I grew up in very political family, but in a time when the politicians would hammer each hard in the House, then go for lunch together and meet each other families. Nowadays, if you were seen to be doing that you be considered a traitor or at least suspect.
