It seems like Germany is going to struggle to put together a governing coalition. The CDU won the most seats and the AFD gained a lot, but CDU refuses to work with them, at least openly. Everyone is also waiting on recounts to see if some of the smaller parties gain official party status. My guess is that unless the CDU and SPD can work together, then the CDU is going to be forced to form a government with AFD.
CDU = AFD = 360 seats
SPD + GRUNE + Die Linke = 269
Germany could adopt immigration polices that are similar to other EU countries that have recently shifted course. Now is not to the time to have a leadership vacuum in Germany. The country must get more serious on defense spending, remove any restrictions on arms to Ukraine, restart it's nuclear reactors and start looking at coal again.
Canada and Germany should work together on nuclear energy, clean coal technology and working to get Canadian NG to the EU market. Also working together on defence technology to build up a ITAR free stockpile of weapons and technology.
