Goldhawk Live on CPAC  has Steven Staples and Paul Mason arguing the Afghan Mission

Just an update....Staples is getting his ass handed to himself.

Thanks for the notice.......just tuned in and he looks like a "Bobblehead" in his having to have a question restated, and still couldn't give a clear answer, if he even gave one.  I think this show may distroy his whole credibility in the media.

Oh dear!  A NDP'er from Ottawa just called in.....more to follow.

Mr Mason is just hammering him, though he seem's soft on the Opium issue.

What he said about the opium issue has the ring of practically. We may not like, I KNOW the public has been fed the pap about eliminating it, but it is a economic and Afghan political problem.

Staples is sure moderating his comments... trying a workaround... getting shot down though.

Normally, at the end of the program they read emails. I had sent him the Ruxted Article, but they didn't read anybody's tonight.

I had called, with the intention of asking Mr Staples how he believed he could make a truely informed desicion on Afghanistan if he had never been on the ground in Afghanistan to see what the troops had or had not done to help the people of that country.

One caller nailed him on that, and he came back with the pap about not having to have been there to argue the mission....everybody just kinda looked away (smirks included).

I saw that, but mine was a direct question on he thought he could make an informed decision.. I wanted him to name his sources of information, or at least get him to elaborate his idea that you don't have to have been there to argue something...

Which by the way makes no sense as you can argue something logically without some type of fact to back it up... yes I know he doesn't know that!

Dammit! The only time I ever see Steven Staples, he's on the CBC, without real opposition.

I see Jack Layton must have been watching the program too.  He has used Staples line in his latest to the Press:

Layton mulls trip to Afghanistan

"I don't think credibility on the question of whether the mission is working depends on whether a person has the opportunity to be there," Layton said.

Looks like one is a 'Camp Follower' of the other.  Kind of reminds me of that saying: "He has two Clues......One is lost and the other is out looking for it."
