Reminds me of the day I wason the range in Aldershot for grenade training. We were split up into 2 groups, one for each bay. The range officer went through the briefing and so forth, and then one group went to each bay. the first person threw their grenade, and it was a dud. So after waiting the requisite 30 minutes, the range office and the CSM go out, place a demo charge to blow the grenade. Turns out the charge don't go off. So after the requisite 30 minutes, back out they go, place a new charge to blow the grenade and the first charge. BOOM.
So then we resume training, person in the next bay throws their grenade, BOOM.
Then the second person in the first bay throws their grenade. DUD!
Next thing you see is a blur as the instructor is running down the approach road, with the range officer close behind, throwing his old steel helmet at the instructor who not 5 minutes earlier warned that if there was another dud, he'd personally skin alive. (Good ol' Major DelVillano)
