Likely pushed to the table unwillingly

Somebody else pushed to the table - the Chiefs of Police of the Met in London and Manchester

"Five people have been arrested during a pro-Palestinian protest outside the Ministry of Justice.

"The Metropolitan Police said two were detained on Wednesday evening for chanting slogans involving the word “intifada”, along with another protester who attempted to obstruct their arrests.

"Just after 9pm, the Met said they had made two further arrests for public order offences, one of which was racially aggravated.

"Earlier that day, both the Met and Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said anyone chanting slogans such as “globalise the intifada” would face arrest.

"A Met source told The Telegraph other chants such as “from the river to the sea” could also lead to an arrest as part of a more robust police approach."

I did not expect this. Trump has invited PM Carney to sit on his “Gaza Board of Peace”, which I gather will be the quasi-governance external oversight? PM Carney has accepted.

Not sure yet what this will mean but it’s an interesting show of respect from Trump.

Wait til the other shoe drops.

“Since you’re here can your country head up a peacekeeping mission in Gaza?”

My guess is he'll manipulate the 'Board of Peace' to have them approve the costs for his development empire to profit from the rebuilding work in Gaza.

Apparently anyone can get an invite to pay the “membership fee” and join the Gaza board.
Yeah, that must be the POTUS47 definition of "invite" - I guess "pay to play" might be considered a bit crass ....
... with CAN still working out the details apparently

Meanwhile, and ironically...

Kremlin says Putin has been invited to join Trump’s Gaza ‘board of peace’

Putin shows no signs of ending Ukraine war and claim adds weight to accusation Trump favours Russian president

The Kremlin has announced that Vladimir Putin has been invited to join Donald Trump’s “board of peace”, set up last week with the intention that it would oversee a ceasefire in Gaza.

The Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, told journalists on Monday that Russia was seeking to “clarify all the nuances” of the offer with Washington, before giving its response.

The claim of an invitation comes with Putin showing no signs of ending his invasion of Ukraine, in which hundreds of thousands have been killed and Russian troops have carried out atrocities against civilians. The Russian president has repeatedly rejected proposals of ceasefire along the current frontlines.
