Really don't know what to make of this guy. I think the Ryerson College Law Students who penned that drivel should maybe go and work in Syria or Iran and really see what a genocidal state looks like. Their statement may not have breeched the bar of anti-Semitism but it sure crossed into a dimension of abject idiocy and lack of awareness.

Everyone wants a cease fire.

The question is what conditions are they willing to accept for one.

Also, I’m sure the belligerents couldn’t give a toss what Canadians, who have no skin in the game, think.

That’s a….good thing, right?
Yes it is a very good thing - but since it hasn't happened to us are we in any position to dictate to another democracy as to how they should do business, providing it is not manifestly illegal?

We have over 110,000 dead from two European/ World Wars that give us a place on the podium, I would say...

Actually.

Arguably, it did happen.

FLQ Crisis. Kidnappings, bombings, murders...
And we didn’t proceed to raise Quebec to the ground in response. Same with the IRA, Britain didn’t decimate Northern Ireland.

Because ‘manifestly illegal’ and ethically wrong are two different things. It used to be legal to kill people provided you didn’t hide doing it. Doesn’t make it ethical.

We also provide said country millions of dollars in military equipment each year, we have some level of responsibility as to how its used. Especially once we see how they are using it.

I’d suggest if Quebecers came across to Ontario and killed 2,500 English Canadians tomorrow, and had a population that grossly supported it, that the rest of Canada would probably go full ‘do the whole fucking village’ on Quebec.

Who’s ethics?

Canada sells some sub components, but actually buys a lot more stuff from Israel.

Just fer fun, throw your mind back to Warerhole Sr response to the Flq thing in '70. Closest we've come and military/civ pol involvement was huge as was the initial level of civilian outrage that quickly abated by about Jan of the fol yr.( Bit more than one news cycle, but not by much as we still had to rely on newspapers and TV/radio.)

This is just in, the UN officially adds Israel to its blacklist of 'countries that kill children.'

Same blacklist alongside ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram... And rightly so. Too bad it only happened after Israel killed 15,000 children, made 17,000 children orphan and made Gaza the largest population of child amputees in the world!

Hopefully, the GoC acts on this (and on the ICC/ICJ developments) to start an arms embargo and reduce diplomatic relations with Israel.

Now cue the "the UN is Hamas" charge!

You seem to forget that most on here have probably had dealings with the UN............so their 'list' of anything means less then zero to us.

Not to mention when you put quotations on words that means you don't change it,.....you know,....quoting something??
Kill/ harm?? I'd like to see the war that didn't get children harmed.
