High Ranking Police Folk Allegedly Behaving Badly

I understand anonymous complaints to protect people when there's a massive power imbalance but it's also weird in the sense that someone can't face their accusers.
If formal disciplinary or criminal charges are laid they will be able to face the accuser(s).

Given the paucity of information here, we are left to guess - did she expense something improperly? Did she leave the toilet seat up? We have no knowledge of what is alleged to have transpired.

I haven't watched it yet but did she hold the wrong person accountable for actually doing their job?
Appears to have wrote an honest letter to higher ups in Ottawa outlining issues her officers are dealing with.

There is an art to saying "Fuck the rules". If you are not such an artist, the rules may well fuck you instead.

With 30 years pensionable and guaranteed provincial government work if she wants it, she’s got a pretty good fallback should it come to it.

not with allegations of financial and spending issues. That’s the whole controversy- her loss in this way has cut her off from post career work. That’s why the fight and email etc are necessary. She is fighting for her employability. This is an unprecedented loss of command.

Rhonda has gone from accolades and being on the front page in a positive way to a pariah in record time. Everyone should be tracking this.

Generally when we lose confidence in a CO we see a retirement that seems really quick and out of the blue. Because they know, speculation, their post career depends on it.

The other side of my brain thinks she has a better shot at being commissioner now than she did previously. Her operational tilt basically keeps her off the shortlist, Ottawa doesn’t like operational experience. The proof is in the lineage of RCMP commissioners. A ground swell grassroots support may benefit her.

All speculation of course.

Tough to say without knowing more about the nature of the financial allegations. Is it a matter of buying needed kit outside of approved procurement processes, or something less forgivable? Time will tell I guess. I’m curious if she’ll be quietly but gainfully employed in another role pending investigation or left to rot.

In certain circles, bucking Ottawa on bureaucratic stuff may not count against her much. But it’ll very much depend on what it was. I doubt it’ll take long for more to come out on this, probably from provincial government sources. Particularly if the provincial government likes her.

Wow. Glad he actually got custodial time, and it’s good to see Alberta has an easier time suspending without pay in egregious cases.

Robinz — a 39-year-old former Canadian Forces soldier who fought in Afghanistan

We all know where this is going to go...

Drum roll...

Robinz suffered PTSD: Defence

In arguing for a community sentence, defence lawyer Allan Fay presented evidence of his client’s post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which he said arose from Robinz’s service in Afghanistan.

Right on cue.

At first getting sent to prison for 6 months seems like a win. When you look at all the other fucked up shit he did he got off light.
