How does the CSOR selection/training differ from the Patrol Pathfinder course?

Well I am not going to do either of them but I aure would like to hear an honest answer. Maybe the OP is just curious or looking to verify what he has heard, from someone who has actual knowledge rather than hearsay.

I've read often that those who partake in elite or special forces prelims are discouraged from talking about the process, they dont want you to prepare necessarily, they want someone who'll just fit. Not to say preparing would be a bad idea at all. But as to posters said above: baby steps. That's what I was told OP, baby steps. Im interested in elite/SF diving, but might go SAR Tech or something. But thats AFTER I'm even eligible, which has certain prereq as Im sure you know. And everywhere I read you're pretty much discouraged from talking about the process.

Generally, most such selection processes require the individuals participating to sign an agreement not to dicsuss what they did.

However, if you want to succeed on such courses, I strongly recommend getting yourself into the best physical shape of your life.  Do not become reliant on any supplements to maintain your fitnesss - they will not be availalbe while you're on the course.  On any of those courses, the physical demands will be tremendous.  If you are not physically ready, you will not pass.

Because nothing says "definitive answer" like "I heard it on an internet forum".


But still, it would be nice if people either choose from the following 3 2 options

1] Answer the question with relevant information the OP is looking for.

2] Not answer the question as you don't want to, or don't know the answer

3] Make passive aggressive comments as to how stupid you feel the question is, or that the poster ought to know this already.

And who is your source? Consider how reliable they are as well. I've seen numerous people talking about certain courses/units, but they really have no clue. Patrol Pathfinder and CSOR Special Forces Course are both tough courses in their own rights. In addition, don't expect to find much information, especially for SFC as it isn't open source information.

There is no possible comparison. Anyone who tells you they can compare the two is full of BS.

Difference.  If you pass Patrol Pathfinder, you get the PPF Qualification Code.  If you pass CSOR selection, you get rebadged into the SOF Operator MOSID.
