HRA Occupation

Hello,
I have recently applied for HRA position, i would like to know the initial years of contract for this occupation. Also wanted to know more about the occupation from anybody who’s currently in the role.

Well I will start with it is not a contract, it is a period of service with specified terms of service.

It covers the trade reasonably. Depending on where you are posted it can be tedious after a while just like any other support trade. There are opportunities for postings to a decent number of positions both in and out of Canada. Most important part to me is high attention to anything that impacts a members pay. Mess that up and it doesn't matter how good you are at the rest of the job. That is the only thing I remember about several people that were supposed to take care of my pay, the mistakes they made.

Your initial TOS would be a VIE 3 years usually followed by a CE 5 and IE 25 offer (you get to decide which to accept). Currently CE 5 will be offered as an option a second time if you pick it the first time then after that it will only be the IE 25 offered.

TOS 1 - VIE 3
TOS 2 - CE 5 or IE 25
TOS 3 - If opted for CE 5 at TOS 2 then CE 5 or IE 25 offered again
TOS 4 - if opted for CE 5 at TOS 3 then IE 25 offered.

Not in the HRA trade but was RMS and now FSA working closely with the HRA staff here so keeping up a bit with things.

Do HRA have to go to Borden for trade training or is it just OJT on the base?. Currently I am completed all my documentation and waiting for selection do they select HRA usually every month?. When I spoke to recruitment there were couple of opening?.

They have moved back to trg in Borden.
