Increasing the CF numbers

Is there any thought or news at all on the CF increasing the numbers of CF personal across the board in the coming years? Would it take a new government to change the current level? And is there currently a shortage and for what areas are staff needed? Any info, links or news articles would great. I am aplying to the CF and I was just interested in seeing what trades the CF is desperate or in short supply of. Thanks.

Yes we are short, esp. in the combat arms.  I'd say we need about 20,000 to start turning things around.  Your local recruiter could better tell you whats open and what is short.

I know right now that the NET trades, 283, 284, and 285 are in dier needs of people; if one were to apply to these trades, they should get in pretty quick.
