info on upcoming tours

When is 5 RGC scheduled for next tour??  PM's are more than welcome

The short answer: it depends.

The longer answer: Find a copy of the "conveyor belt of doom" slide / poster, showing the Army's Managed Readiness Plan (MRP).  When a unit from 5 GBMC is tagged as the lead on the first line of operations, odds are the bulk of the engineer support will be drawn from 5 RGC.

Th (still longer) answer: Demand for engineers pretty much outstrips supply.  There are attempts to ensure the school is adequtely staffed to handle the influx of recruits (both to sustain the current force and also to grow), but the three CERs and one ESR are all being tapped frequently to provide folks for operations (and not only to A'stan).  Those tasks are both individual and for formed groups.  There are many engineer tasks out there; you'd be hard pressed to find an engineer unit (regular or reserve) that has no one deployed or prepping for deployment right now.

And the best answer: If you're being posted there, check with your new chain of command.  They'll have much better information than someone rambling on the internet.

Yeah and in 13 years i've been told to be ready for this, ready for that or to expect to spend X amount of time in X country in year X........its all rumour mill until it comes down from the goverment, plain and simple
