Informing the Army’s Future Structure

Just saw this on Canadian army website. I guess this is the basic restructuring plan that will be rolled out. They specifically mention a fires brigade and integrated combined arms reserve battalions for the maneuver division. I wonder how that will shape out without a massive infusion of personal and kit.

The eternal search for consistency across the Reserves in terms of annual training standards has been an amazing odyssey to behold over the years.

The FORCE test/ BFT and PWT were about the only two things that have ever been able to be enforced.

If they want to increase the ability of more troops to DAG Green for OP LENTUS etc, they should probably add a 'dental fit' requirement to those two as that item seemed to disqualify an amazing number of troops on a regular basis...
Dental is normally waved for dom ops. It was the last two times I went

Given the proximity of dental services across the country and length of dom ops it is an easy risk management solution. Unless the CAF is ready to either give dental to all reservists or accept civy dentist assessment.
Or they could, you know, give all class A reservists free dental insurance.

The dental fit stuff is so opaque. I have never had a cavity and maintain good oral health but was deemed dental unfit in 2023. A year later wiyh no change I was found fit. Its odd.

Abolish the Senates. What purpose do they serve? I never even heard of them till years after I left.
An effective Senate leverages senior former members and Honoraries to help the unit through the CO and RSM.

A poor quality Senate hangs around the bar and complains about the Rosa Rifle and everything after.

Or sends a personal invitation to the Queen to attend a ceremonial function, related to the adoption of new colours, kicking off a month of chaos for the CO who spends most of his time responding to RFIs from dozens of stratospheric level offices across 8 time zones ;)
