DoD Acknowledges UFO Encounter With F/A-18s: Releases Footage

In 2004, Navy F/A-18 Super Hornets were called in to investigate a UFO encounter by the USS Princeton (CG-59), Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser off the Baja Peninsula, southwest of San Diego, CA.

On a side note the History channels "aliens" apparently had or has higher viewer numbers than cnn, or sometbibg to that effect.

The program on History Channel that had a greater viewership than CNN was Ancient Aliens. FOX News channel continues to be number one.

That UFO encounter, when reading the details, was incredibly fascinating.  The UFO not only evaded the fighters, but also interacted with them in such a manner that when the fighters lost contact & were asking for tracking info, the UFO was now where the fighters had just come from - almost like a game.

I'll look up the details, but that interaction actually spanned DAYS...and wasn't just a quick contact and off it went.  It went underwater.  It shot up vertically.  And consistently would position itself to locations where the fighters had just previously been.  Truly cool to read about.

Russia Is Reopening an Investigation Into the World’s Greatest Mystery

...And now, Russian police have finally reopened the case—known colloquially as the “Dyatlov Pass incident.” The announcement came last week from the Russian prosecutor general's office who have vowed to finally put all the theories about the hikers death to rest...

"All of [the deaths] are somehow connected with natural phenomena," Alexander Kurennoi, a spokesperson for Russia’s prosecutor, said in a video of the announcement. The Russians say that a group of expert investigators and whathaveyou will be involved in this new investigation. While it’s been 60 years since the bodies with the ever so strange positions and injuries were found, Kurennoi said people are still hungry for answers.

In order to understand why the mystery of what’s known as the “Dyatlov Pass incident” has been able to survive for 60 years, you needn’t look further than the bodies. The entire expedition—minus one hiker who left earlier because of heart problems—died over the same night...

Investigations are always easier when you start with the answer.  ;D

I would absolutely love to figure out EXACTLY what happened that night.  The injuries are so bizarre and gruesome, to have that all happen within a short period of time is pretty insane to imagine.

We will never know what exactly happened.  All of the witnesses are dead.

I'm no wildlife expert, so perhaps the bear theory holds true...sounds like one aggressive bear though!  Honestly, don't think we'll ever truly know what happened.  :2c:

Yea, it's interesting. The main issue being that although there're a few possibilities of what could've caused the mayhem "naturally", no single theory can inclusively explain all of the injuries and conditions reported/thoroughly documented from the scene. I've always enjoyed things that can't be wrapped up into a neat little box. Mystery keeps life fun.

This brings back memories. When this incident was mentioned earlier I said that I had an issue of the Fortean Times looked at what happened at the Dyatlov Pass. So I searched all my back issues of the magazine and wouldn't you know it, that one issue is missing!!
