I also don't think the US would care much if Europe said they can go home. I think they would happily leave Europe to Europeans.

Yes you’re right. They always went alone when bigfooting around Latin America.

There were a handful of Caribbean countries that joined them in Grenada.

Iran will not be like their previous Latin American actions.

But my point stands that for all their major wars since and including the Second World War, they had allies.

And for this one, they have Israel.

The rebuttal contradicts earlier statements from US Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who told reporters that Spain had heard the president's message "loud and clear" and agreed to assist.

The diplomatic clash follows a threat from US President Donald Trump on Tuesday to "cut off all trade with Spain." The warning came after Madrid refused to allow the US to use jointly operated military bases in southern Spain for any strikes lacking a UN charter mandate.

So does the U.S. Navy. America unilaterally declares sanctions nobody else recognizes, attacks foreign merchant vessels in international waters, boards them, and seizes them.

For a war with Iran, Israel is a more directly useful ally than the US's traditional allies. Readiness, capability, and regional location being important.
