President Donald Trump on Friday said the fight to stop a nuclear-powered Iran is “militarily won,” while lashing out at NATO allies for not helping the United States and calling them “cowards” for not helping open the Strait of Hormuz.
“Now that fight is Militarily WON, with very little danger for them, they complain about the high oil prices they are forced to pay, but don’t want to help open the Strait of Hormuz, a simple military maneuver that is the single reason for the high oil prices,” Trump wrote on
Truth Social.
“So easy for them to do, with so little risk. COWARDS, and we will REMEMBER!” Trump added.
The president also lamented that NATO allies didn’t join the US in the war against Iran and again argued that the alliance would be powerless without the US.
“Without the U.S.A., NATO IS A PAPER TIGER! They didn’t want to join the fight to stop a Nuclear Powered Iran,” he said.
Trump started the week by calling on allies to help reopen the strait, but later said the US
didn’t need them.
“We no longer ‘need,’ or desire, the NATO Countries’ assistance — WE NEVER DID!” Trump said on Tuesday.
