If in fact an agreement is reached, it’ll probably be both entertaining and kinda awkward to do a side by side comparison of new deal versus status quo ante, and at what price peace and safe transit of the Strait was purchased.

I'm not even trying to pay attention to which rumours are being reported by who right now... The whole dick dance over what appears increasingly likely to be terms of capitulation and withdrawal form the war means nothing in and of itself. It seems to all be theatrics and nonsense until something is actually in place. Call me when either bombs are falling, or oil and fertilizer are loaded up and moving again. Supply chains and economies need goods at ports.

Trump is just realizing that he is playing with people with a whole different value set and life outlook and don't fit well into his play book. Frankly he should start taking all the small islands, continue the blockade, sink any small vessel leaving Iranian shores, start flooding the area with both aerial and marine drones. Ukraine is now using marine drones armed with thermobaric weapons and FPV drones to attack coastal installation in Crimea, copy that play book hard and fast. Start sweeping the area with mine hunting drones and MG armed drones to hunt small vessels.

And the strait stays closed, oil and fertilizer don’t move, oil resumes increasing and then spikes hard as strategic reserves are depleted. Farmers continue to move away from more fertilizer intense crops and some fields are left fallow. Dispel used in transportation gets more and more expensive. Inflation spikes, interest rates go up to try to curb it, and absolutely everyone feels it in the pocketbook, with probably devastating political results come November.

But sure, yeah. Do more of what’s already brought global supply chains to where they are now and on a trajectory that’s worse still.
