Hey guys,
I've scanned this forum, and if there's already a post like this, forgive me and give me a link. But I know the C7 is our service rifle. My question is how many C8's are issued on deployment and how many are at armories?

The exact number of C8s we have,  I don't know.. some units will have more then others.  Why do you want to know this?  Because the C8 looks cool and you want one when you get in the CF?  Unless you get into a unit with C8s and you get one,  expect to have a C7A2.  Even on tour,  troops use the C7A2.

Are you in the CF or in the process of joining?

Reality (most times) dictates quantity. If the line serials at armouries or task on deployment call for a certain amount, that's likely what's there. There's no set number.

Unless your job calls for one, you won't get one.

Thanks guys. I am joining the CF soon. I actually just printed out the application form a few days ago! :) If all goes well, I'll be on the September 2013 Reserve BMQ course! And that's interesting to know. Is there any major difference between the C7A2 and the C8? (Other than the few inches the latter is shorter).

If you are not in....lose the Pte. part of your name...you haven't earned it!

Thanks, GAP. I've PMd Jay about that, and some other things.

If you pass your BMQ in the upper third of the course I'll send you a picture of my C8 with an M203 on it, Elcan Spectre scope and laser sight.
