Is the Leo 1A5 the MBT for Canada?

Germany, Trg area, set to head out to the "world", first light launch. Siting in my panzer, listening to the gyro‘s come up to speed (is there ANYTHING that sounds so good?) and waiting for the engine start. CO‘s fist goes up, then falls, and the enitire Squadron roars to life. Another fist in the air, and the lead tank moves out. The rest of us are falling into line, when all of a sudden the lead tank hammers on the binders. The CC is half way out of his hatch, walloping the heck out of the loader with his "germany map" (man, they were big). The loader was trying to get out while fending off the blows. He succeeded, and ran out of sight to the Bivvy area. We all had a laugh, wondering wether it was bino‘s of COI‘s that were left behind. Minutes later, the loader came running across the field, struggling with 2 "24‘s" of beer. He threw them opn the back deck, got up himself, and the tank moved on.

We followed...not a word was said.

Had a ball in Germany!

Then there was the case of Muff Couplings......

And of course your learning how to order a Beer in German on the flight over...... :D

ahhh, the muff couplings. a nasty story....

One morning the brave and loyal lads of A Sqn, the RCD mounted their Panzers (much like their older, smarter, and better looking bretheren in C Sqn) to head off for the RMA. Much to their surprise, some tanks would only turn left, some only right, and others wouldn‘t move at all. After several hours of troubleshooting (they weren‘t much on mechanical abilities either) they finally discovered that "someone" had snuck over in the night, avoiding their sentries, and disconnected the final drives in all of the tanks: some had the starboard drive disconnected, some the port, and others both.

We never found out who actually did it, rumours were it was B Sqn.....

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!
66 Stryker MGS for 600 mln CAN?! How can that be possible? 9 mln dollars per vehicle?. The most expensive MBT, the Japanese Type 90 dosn't even cost that much. Where does that price come from, can someone tell me?
For 600 mln we could buy a little over 100 Leopard 2S tanks, the same vehicles that Sweden bought, which are dramatically more effective than the Stryker...

That Includes spare parts Training and the projected cost for a set number of years for maintenance

Exercise Not So Perfect Kill.  Over.

Hilarious.

Just hilarious.

The last time they tried this, they fired three missiles at a staionary tank, broadside and tracks up..  Hit it once, the other two were short.

"Unprecedented" they said........

Why do I sometimes think that the powers that be really don't know what they are doing?

dunno if this fits in here,

just a lil kudos to the tankers both US and Canadian.

Nothing like being in a MECH unit and being attached to a Tank company on "Hunter Killer" mssions.
