More specifically, student loans?

Also, is it possible to pay off debt that you owe while serving overseas or domestically with your income?

How you manage your money is up to you. You can pay off debts or you can rack up more...your choice.

For all its differences , being in the military is not some magical switch that makes reality stop.

Not sure if you are a reservist or if there is any similar regulations for members of the RegF, but you may want to read this: http://www.canlearn.ca/eng/postsec/faq/index.shtml#y
