Hey, i tried using the search function but i couldnt really find anything on it, so im wondering is there a weight limit that you have to be to get in? like height to weight ratio? does anyone know what the min req. are?

Thanks

When I first went to the recruiters, about 3 years ago now, amongst the package of information I got with my application was a chart that showed weight to height ratios, including the ranges of what was considered underweight, normal, and overweight. Unfortunatley I don't have any of those papers anymore, but if you talk to a recruiter they might be able to provide you with something.

No, rather then the ridiculous concept of tying "fitness" to weight, the Canadian army just conducts a fitness test. As you can easily have rather heavy people in much better shape then rather skinny people.

Just a Sig OP makes a good a point.  However, the VO2 calculation in the application process's fitness test "implies"
a weight limitation.  The calculation considers body weight, height, age, resting heart-rate, and active
heart-rates during the step test.  I don't know what the equation is specifically, but the higher the body
weight, the lower the VO2 result.  The candidate has to meet or exceed the VO2 threshold for the
age category.  As long as the candidate passes the requirements of the fitness test (medical issues
aside), then relative body weight in and of itself isn't a factor.  The reduction of unnecessary body
weight will improve the VO2 results though.  Search the internet for "VO2MAX" or
"VO2 calculation" for more info.

I guess what I got was just a recommend guideline for self-assesment or something along those lines.. It was part of a serries of papers on the fitness standards for entry that came in my overall recruiting information package.

Those papers are available at the recruiting office. I wouldn't go by those charts, it does not figure in muscle mass. I'm 6'3" 220, and it says that for my age I'm in the "risk" area, which is BS.
