Hi there,

I'm new to this forum, so I apologize in advance if I'm posting this in the wrong area.

I'm interested in joining the forces but my issue is in what exactly..

I have strong leadership skills, I am a licensed EMR (Emergency Medical Responder), I like flying and being up in the air, I like working with a team but also taking charge, I have an interest in maybe joining the Search & Rescue in the future but I also have a huge interest in helping internationally with things like the Earthquake victims. I am just not sure and I don't know how to figure it out. I'm a bit nervous that although I do have a slight interest in the medical side, that it will not have been the area I wanted to invest my time into fully when I could have done something relating to my other interests like helping people out in natural disasters (for example).

Does anyone have tips on being confident with your decision and also where to see all possible jobs? Or what you think I'd be good for? I went on the job search on the forces website but it only showed a few jobs that were available now and I thought there were more, but even just to look at the description of different jobs might help..

Thanks

I believe Med Tech branches into SARTECH eventually if you choose. Ultimately it's up to you what to do. EMR is more trauma side stuff unless you popped ASA to everyone. Up to you really.

I've heard SAR TECH is more of a re-muster and that it is a whole lot different than med tech. Physical fitness is close to csor/jtf2.  :army:
