It was a guy from Quebec by the name of Bissonette. Really good guy, very levelheaded. What were you doing on staff?

I thought the jump courses got rid of ranking top candidates a long time ago...

nope its still done

Strange, they never do that during army para crses. Must be for the cadet crse only then...

probably,

cadets do the CF Basic Para course and is no way modified, that is why they can wear theyre jump wings and participate in unit jumps they just become qualified ironically befor they join the army, i was on course 0304 and during the same time 0303 which was comprised of troops from the van-doos did their course. we all ended up jumping together. But yea they probably only pick a top canditate for the cadet course because there is a special award for top para canditate within the army cadets. Im glad I did it as a cadet because it would be harder for me to get on it as a reservist believe it or not.

The cadets select a top candidate because it is used to determine who can apply to go as a staff cadet the next year. Murphy, I assume you did your course last summer, your Cadet CSM was Kirk Ewen was he not? He was top on our course the year before. And my Cadet CSM recieved top candidate the year before that. I‘m pretty sure that‘s why the do it. As well as the little watch or whatever it is that they give out. Nice pics.
