Does anyone know a good pair of reliable jungle boots? I have seen a few pairs out there including the Marine Jungle boots

http://www.sealsactiongear.com/products_footwear.html

but other than that are there any good options???
:army:

I didn't see any jungle boots on that page.

Good companies that make jungle boots are Bata and Welco.

Anyways, if your looking to buy jungle boots, I'm selling a pair or Jungle Boots with the OD canvas and panama soles, made by Bata, selling for $22. PM if interested.

Matt, try a search, I just hit 2 pages with "jungle boots"

What's so special about a jungle boot? What makes a boot a Jungle boot?

I dont see them in that picture, most jungle boots I have seen have holes in the side to allow water to drain out. Good for if you think you will be going through a swamp or its raining alot.

From my experience the Wellco Jungle boots are excellent.  They work very well if your like me and have really nasty sweaty feet since they allow your foot to breath better then the black cadillacs or the WWB.  They are also great when you are constantly on the move, or in conditions where your feet would get wet anyways, keeping a pair in my ruck for backups saved my feet on a nav ex in october.

I find they take alot longer to break in then other boots, about 3 weeks wearing them around everyday, and they will bite your feet before they are broken in if you dont like the soaking in hot water technique.  After they are broken in, they are one of the most comfortable boots to wear.

Has anyone ever been issued the wellco desert boots ? just curious how good they are.

I have bought wellco desert boot's, I find they are breathable and very light. They are also very comfortable to wear. But the only thing there not fond of is the water, Because they are not made for water,   but even walking through the grass with dew. They are also great for walking on harder surfaces. My 2 cents

Combat Boots = Full Leather

Jungle Boots = Canvas/Cordura Uppers & Leather Lowers (with drain holes)

Jungle Boots were designed for tropical (jungle) terrain, and were used during the Vietnam War. They are lighter, designed to get wet, and designed to drain/dry quicker than regular combat boots.

Jungle Boots with Gore-Tex socks are a good combination.
