SAUDI Arabia executed two murderers including a Yemeni whose body was nailed to a cross after he was convicted of killing a fellow countryman and his daughter.

Shaaban al-Nasheri was beheaded for shooting dead Dhayeh al-Manbahi after barging into his family home in the southwestern town of Jazan, the interior ministry said in a statement cited by the official SPA agency.

Nasheri was also found guilty of raping and killing Manbahi's daughter before shooting and wounding her sister.

Following his execution, the murderer's body was nailed to a cross in Jazan.

In the second case, Saudi national Mohammed al-Zahrani was decapitated in El-Baha, in the southwest, for shooting dead compatriot Said al-Zahrani over a land dispute.

The beheadings bring to 15 the number of executions reported in the ultra-conservative Gulf monarchy this year, according to an AFP count. In 2009, there were 67 reported executions in the kingdom, compared with 102 in 2008.

In extreme cases, the convict is executed and his body crucified in public.

I think it is safe to say that a person cannot be crucified after he is already dead.
Crucifixion is an ancient method of painful execution in which the condemned person is tied or nailed to a large wooden cross (of various shapes) and left to hang until dead.

In 75 BC, Julius Caesar, then just a young nobleman, was kidnapped by Cilician pirates. After paying his own ransom, he raised a fleet, went back, and captured every pirate that had held him captive that he could find. Taking them to a nearby Roman province to be lawfully executed, the governor of that region hum'd and hah'd over their execution - all in his own greed, as he wanted the years of collected treasure they had. So, Caesar executed them under his own authority.

History books say that they were all crucified, which they technically were. However, he had their throats slit prior to them being nailed to their crosses. This is still considered a crucifixion.

(Sorry... I just finished a paper on this last week, and I'll really never be able to use this info anywhere again... haha)

No it's not.........it is just a display of dead people on crosses, which was meant to terrorize
onlookers into submission.
