Just some midnight surfing brought me accross this clip.

Had no idea they were that sharp. Also interesting to be able to see the many folds it takes to form the katana.

Another productive hour.

Do you think it would have taken as many strokes for the katana to destroy the machinegun?  Within arms reach a competent swordsman will slaughter a machinegunner.  Outside arms reach my nine year old could butcher Miyamoto Mushashi.  I have a Viking pattern-welded longsword that can slice through a rifle barrel in a single stroke (tried it, made a heck of a nick in the blade, wrist and elbow both ached for days), and a machine stamped .303 Lee Enfield from 1940, one is without question the superior expression of metalsmithing, the other a mass produced killing tool.  If I pick up the sword, you can run or die.  If I put the bolt in the rifle, running will not save you.  In the end, they are both just tools of a trade that was first (and still can be) practiced with sharp rocks and pointy sticks.

Who are they kidding. It might be the AMERICAN air force, but it is still the airforce nonetheless.  ;)

Oh yeah, what about this video?

A US copter catches a couple in action. Paris hilton would be jealous.

Mod Edit: Probably not appropriate for some of our younger members. If you'd like to have a look, PM techie for the link...
