I have just returned to Canada and have been unable to find any current LFRR information.  Is General Fitch still in charge of this program and what changes have been made.  I have heard that out in the west  the Fort Garry Horse are in the process of adding an engineer squadron to their recce regt. to bring engineer skills back into 38 Bde but I am unsure if this is part of the reserve restructure.  Any info?

FGH will not have an Engineer Sqn.   38 CBG may bring back the old Flinflon Engineers in a new location, but it would exist as an entity of its own.

I have not heard any thing on this before now though.

We were told the eng are part of the org, but would as the arty unit be plug and play type of org. Mission would dictate.

Last I heard, we (FGH) were possibly getting an engineering SQN as an attachment until there is enough people for the engineers to stand up on their own.

Sorry. I never saw this thread until today.

LFRR is still up and running. MGen Fitch is still the Project Manager. He is actually a reservist now.

As part of the LFRR process, LFWA is working on a plan to embed an Engineer capability into the Fort Garry Horse since 38 Bde does not have an engineer capability. Imbedding this into an existing unit reduces the overhead that standing up a new unit will entail. What will happen to this in the future, only the future can tell.

Glad to see the LFRR project is still alive and kicking.  Haven't heard too much lately.  Too bad the official message board is no longer around.
