Which ones happened? The items in yellow or the items in white?I always find it amazing that everyone just conveniently forgot those things happened.

Events south of the border changed the game for everyone- that the PP lead CPC both failed to pivot and was left vulnerable to DJT comparisons in messaging tone were both strategic mistakesYou're blaming the CPC for fumbling, when events south of the border, and a a complete direction change by the LPC conspired to make their job 10x harder.
Could the CPC have done better? Yes. Did they completely screw up? No. Canadians wanted "change" and they wanted stability at the same time, Carney was the "safe" bet to achieve that.
In the last election the CPC increased their seat count and popular vote count.
They also abandoned (for now) their proud history of stabbing their leader in the back immediately after not winning an election.
These are actually signs of success and organizational discipline.
I am still underwhelmed with their leader (particularly compared to his predecessor), but as a party they are currently well positioned.
Fair, but also needs to be viewed relative to what could/should have been.In the last election the CPC increased their seat count and popular vote count.

If you decide to conveniently ignore the reality that Canadian media have for the last few decades compared the CPC, and the predecessor parties to the Republicans that makes some sense. Regardless of who was the leader, the media and the LPC would have drawn comparisons between the CPC leader and the GOP POTUS.Events south of the border changed the game for everyone- that the PP lead both CPC failed to pivot and was left vulnerable to DJT comparisons in messaging tone were both strategic mistakes
When the LPC started campaigning on CPC platform items, there wasn't much else to do but draw attention to the last few years of LPC unpopularity. In hindsight, people love to pretend that the LPC pivoting to the CPC platform was inevitable, but right up until the moment JT stepped down, it wasn't even seen as a possibility. You're right that they didn't pivot, but by the time things had happened at LPC HQ, there wasn't really time to make a convincing pivot, and MC hadn't yet shown that he was actually much different from the LPC of old. He had been a proponent of the carbon tax right up until it was inconvenient for his chances to be elected. That the LPC underwent a direction change was a direct result of the CPC strategy... but there was no plan for what do when/if JT steps down other than trying to gaslight the nation that the next guy was JT in a mask and no direction change was happening
The "wide vacuum" you imagine existed, didn't. The swing voters voted CPC Lite because, as I stated earlier, they wanted change and stability at the same time. They got the CPC platform wrapped up in a familiar red LPC ribbon. That isn't the fault of the CPC as much as it is a reflection of the nature of the Canadian voter. That there was such a wide vacuum in the middle was/is a direct result in the CPC being where PP wants it on the political spectrum rather than taking the vacuum that was given by JT driving the LP into the left ditch.
This is how I know you have an unserious take, and just want to vent about how much you dislike PP.I'm blaming the CPC for fumbling because they did. Some of us called the mistakes, their potential consequences, the gap it left open for the Liberals as they were happening and were called "ABC's" and "Liberal apologists" for it. It was the CPC's election to lose- and PP fucked it up massively.
L O freaking L.They got the CPC platform wrapped up in a familiar red LPC ribbon. That isn't the fault of the CPC
Your TDS is showing...L O freaking L.
PP says the LPC platform is a disaster, his is beautiful, the best.
PP loses.
PP says the LPC platform was mostly his so he can't be blamed for losing BUT ALSO everything that the LPC is doing (from said platform) is a disaster.
Of course it is. Leadership accountability is for suckers and Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia.Again, your take that the CPC "fucked it up massively" says more about your position than it does about the CPC's performance in the last elelection.
And that he immediately fell behind was an absolutely ringing endorsement, good point!@IKnowNothing
Pierre didn't fumble a 20-25 point lead on the TRUDEAU Liberals (Trudeau tucked tail and ran), he never had a real lead, infact many pollsters put him behind the CARNEY Liberals,
To be fair to BC Ferries, this is actually a completely regular contract, and they didn't buy in Canada because there isn't a shipyard that could build it, let alone be competitive.Uh oh
Freeland called to testify again on BC Ferries deal after e-mails show Transport knew in advance
I can imagine how that conversation will go
Judge: “Minister, did the government know about the irregular contracts before the ferry was commissioned?”
Freeland: “So, first of all, let me just say that what Canadians really care about here is ferries, because ferries are boats, and boats are how Canadians, hard-working, middle-class Canadians, and those working hard to join the middle class , get across water. And water, Your Honour, is something Canada has in abundance, as the country with the most lakes in the world, and that is really a strength for our economy moving forward in a global, rules-based order.
