Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

Its a mile wide but and inch deep.
That's much harder to quantify.

That said, centimeters deep or meters deep, it's best to be onside with public opinion, not attack Canada as broken in the midst of Canada being attacked by outside forces.

And while PP did stop this once it became clear that patriotism was surging, film exists. Memories exist. If I were PP I would never go that route again, because if the next election comes around and he's on record saying Canada is broken, again, during another surge of patriotism...well.

The CPC is free to learn nothing from the last election and go into the next one without changing their strategy. I'm interested to see how that turns out for them.
I would say they have learnt a lot. They are focused on law and order with both private members' bills and PP urging the government to both institute a 3 strikes and you are locked up policy for repeat offenders and to tackle the catch and release issue. These are major concerns for everyone but die-hard liberals and should resonate well with most everyone.

Flags sales are up 75 percent...and flagpole sales are up 35 percent...because a handful of pro Palestinian are burning Canadian flags?
Yes.

35% flag pole increase.
40% average for new flags to go with the 35% new flag poles ( average of +5% of the new flags go to replacing old flags).

That leaves 35% new flags for our good Palestine supporters to set on fire buy to show their patriotism.

Let me make this clear.

I think the CPC are smarter than their supporters.

I've checked out a few QP. PP is more reserved. I'm not sure if he got a large dose of humility from needing to get back in the the HoC via the mercy of Marc Carney, or whether his handlers are telling him that his hyper partisan, aggressive style turns off moderates, or both, but it's a better look for him.

Jenni Byrne is gone.

PP isn't antagonizing the provincial conservatives as far as I can tell, although it appears there is still no love lost between him and Ford. But he is also no longer feuding with mayors across the country either.

I do think the CPC brain trust is learning from the last election. Who knows, maybe their supporters will follow suit.

So your math skills are actually that poor.

Seems like there is always a willing cohort that is willing to join from the hop, followed by needing to....aggressively encourage, others to follow them.

I am of the opinion that we draft everyone over 40 right to death next time around. I think we have fucked over the youth enough, its time for the older generations to pay their dues.

Why do you think burning Canadian flags is a good thing?
I don't. I simply think that my neighbours, who have put Canadian flags in their windows, and backyard, in the past few months are not burning them.

I happen to think that they, and most of the 75 percent surge in sales, are not Palestinian supporters, but Canadians showing their patriotism.

I also think it would be a logistical nightmare if they were burning those flags and replacing them right away with similar flags only to burn them again.

I am, but also already serving.
And I would happily join depending on the threat, so I don't think it matters for me as well.

The point really is, even during the most black and white conflict in recent human history, Canadians needed to be drafted. It's just part of the human condition.

That brings me back to the inch thick.

Don't tell me you're patriotic unless you're willing to put Canada before self. Otherwise its all just words and empty gestures.
