Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

Looks like the gov is playing hard ball over the jeep plant closure. Glad to see them come out swinging and not tip toeing

We can only hope that any public money came with enforceable strings and this government follows through. Previous governments have not (or they didn't have conditions to enforce). Writing angry letters is easy.

Since the varied bailouts of North American car companies in 2008-ish, I've opted not to buy North American vehicles anymore....I figure I've bought a couple already with the taxpayer money they've gotten.

Mileage I got out of that was crap, so I have stuck with Honda/Toyota since then.

Yeah, I've found American vehicles to be subpar, moved on to kia, been very happy with them.

First 3 cars were Chrysler, (none made in Canada), out of loyalty to my Dad who worked 42yrs in their Finance department. Last 3 cars have been 2 made in Canada, 2 Hondas made in Alliston, Ontario and a Toyota Corolla Hybrid made in Japan. My next vehicle will most likely be another Toyota, made in Woodstock in the next 12-15months, that will replace my 2008 Honda Civic that my kids use that was made in Alliston.

No because I voted for the local Tory MP who lost against a bag of hammer Liberal called Karina Gould.
I do not support PP, I’m dead against him and would renew my party membership just to vote against him again in a leadership review/race.
I will publicly support Carney because I firmly believe that he, as an individual, is the best - the best - option for PM that we currently have.
Wake up call, where your vote is cast is what matters at the end of the day. If you voted a CPC candidate last election (thank you BTW), then you voted for PP to be PM.

Now, keeping your CPC membership alive so you can yeah or nay PP as leader, yeah thats also having a voice.

Unless you make a contribution to PM MC Liberals (please don't) or vote for his Liberals next election, your only supporting him in words only, which means jack.

Not really, because I'm telling everyone that I know that I believe in Carney and that I have zero faith in PP. Carney is truly the better person over PP in the role of PM. I'm NOT talking about past party crap by the Liberals or the Conservatives, but a straight up credentials comparison - with political party affiliation put aside.

There was little to no chance of the Tory candidate in my riding in beating Gould, even though she's incompetent (highlighted by the fact that Carney dropped her from Cabinet and didn't even give her a Parliamentary Secretary position). I voted for the Tory candidate to help ensure that she'd garner enough votes to get her deposit back.

I have spoiled my ballot in the past and, as of now, would have no issue in doing so again.

As for supporting Carney, I would not shut the door on contributing to his individual campaign in the future. Again, I believe that he is the best individual currently available for the role of PM in Canada.

Oh right I forgot political discourse means jack shit. No one has ever had their minds changed by just words.

Basically where votes get cast is what matters at election time. Who throw a few bucks to for party membership or donations also matters but not as much as the actual vote.

Saying you support PM MC as Prime Minister but NOT the Liberals is frankly wishful thinking. You support Carney, you support the Liberals, bottom line. If you cast your vote for a CPC candidate last election, then you supported PP for PM, again thats how it is.

@Altair How am I trolling? You usually offer up instant reposnses (with lots of sideways explanations), lets hear it.

Where am I wrong? I am right on this one, without question.

If only people would remember these things when each new round of hand-outs is proposed.

How's that $15B for EV-related things going?

Well in terms of the Windsor and St Thomas ventures, I'd say pretty damn good. Can't speak of the others.

Your second paragraph contradicts itself. Are you supporting a leader or a party? You say if you voted for Carney you support the liberals. Then you say if you voted conservative then you are supporting PP. which is it?

Your argument is one dimensional and excludes the nuances that have people vote one way or another.

Using your logic then anyone voting CPC are for crypto economics, cutting aid to Ukraine and wrecking CAF pensions.

Some people are one issue voters and others vote on multiple issues.

So to sum up. No. You are definitely not right on this one.

Where you cast your vote, is what matters and what counts. And its who you actually SUPPORT. Period, its where a discussion ends on that.

Your not keeping up with the conversation.

@Czech_pivo said he SUPPORTS Carney as Prime Minister but last election voted the CPC candidate in his riding.

That is NOT supporting Carney, at all. Period.

He supported Pierre and the CPC, period.

When the vote is counted, no one gives a shit about your reasons or feelings. No one.

I am still right on this specific issue. And reading all the bullshit meandering sideways, half baked explanations is hilarious at this point.

You are indeed Mr Right.

Please tell me how I should vote - I clearly need guidance from someone who is right without question
Conservative candidate next election. since you asked.

Seriously, can you follow the conversation at all?

Using your logic then anyone voting CPC are for
The things you listed were NOT in his platform last election. HOWEVER if you voted at the booth for a CPC candidate, you voted for their platform last election.

Again, this is not hard. Where (candidate) you cast your vote is who you SUPPORT.
